Interactive Television
Advances in the computer and communication technologies motivate data broadcasting,
where digital multimedia data and executables are disseminated
along with the traditional audio-visual stream.
Examples include detailed information on today's television schedule,
or stories related to the currently running program.
Supplementary data broadcasting facilitates user-interactive services
such as electronic program guide, distance education, home shopping, and games.
Such an enhanced television broadcasting service is named as 'interactive television service',
which allows subscribers to have more freedom in choosing what to do or what to see.
