Dr. Byoung-Joon (BJ) Lee is currently leading the foward-looking R&D in the area of next
generation network technology including the content-centric networking at SAIT (Samsung
Advanced Institute of Technology). He also initiated and led various R&D projects on IP QoS,
IP mobility, and IPv6 among others. He is a PhD from the University of Waterloo, Canada, and
has more than 15 years of industry experience including works with Nortel Networks, Cisco
Systems and Tropic Networks in various technical and managerial capacities.
Abstract
At least over the next 10~15 years, it is anticipated that significant qualitative and quantitative
changes to the Internet as we know today will be driven by the rapid and further proliferation
of mobile and wireless devices and sensors, which has already outnumbered wired PC’s.
Such wireless, mobile, and sensor – so called Internet of Things (IoT) – requirements represent
new network architecture design challenges, but also the big growth potential for the has-been-struggling
data communiction and networking industry since the burst of Internet bubble in 2000. In this talk,
such design challenges and emerging solution approach with early experience focused on
content-networking paradigm is investigated for further discussion.
