Abstract:
Recently, telecommunication network operators are facing lots of technical and non-technical challenges. To tackle these challenges, various existing or emerging technologies are being tightly coupled or integrated. In this talk, especially from software defined networking perspective in telecommunication networks, three major trends are introduced, i) Cloud Computing & Virtualization, ii) Software Defined Networking (SDN), and iii) Network Function Virtualization, and then how to put them together for architectural improvement. In addition, we’ll also discuss the next step, Software Defined Mobile Network, that research communities are studying to re-architect the next generation mobile network, e.g., B4G, 5G. Finally, for this kind of research, how to build a test-bed is also introduced.
